Growing up in Massachusetts, Jan started selling her art professionally in 2003 at a series of art shows in Boston, Massachusetts.  She then moved to Sedona, Arizona.

A significant portion of Miss Bruso’s paintings involves animals. Species are twisted together by her signature line-work; a chihuahua-giraffe gazes off the canvas with longing, wisdom, humor, comfort, and sadness.

She studied the medium of canvas-painting combined with pen & ink skills since age nine and her style has remained the same.

An adamant animal lover, Miss Bruso regularly paints custom portraits of her clients’ pets.  She also donates much of her work to rescue facilities. 

By 2009, so many clients had asked her to design images for tattoos that Miss Bruso apprenticed at an acclaimed studio in Arizona and started tattooing. 

Today, she has regular tattoo customers that travel as far as Canada and Germany. Currently based in Jerome, Arizona, she spends much of her time traveling back East for work, booking guest spots at tattoo studios around the country and attending art festivals.
